Re: March 2013 Club Meeting...
Folks,
A reasonable turnout for our March meeting, considering the poor weather. We covered Aperture f numbers, had a look at some good photos from members, and watched a video about the great photographer Henri Cartier Bresson. I was going to start an extended discussion/tutorial on digital post processing, which is a huge topic, which we will break down into bite size chunks... We'll make a proper start on it next month.
An important part of our club structure is our little field trips once a month to places of interest (when we actually take photos!) The locations have always been decided at club meetings, without much forethought or research, so have been a bit hit or miss. We have therefore decided to get a bit more organised. Richard Gall has kindly agreed to act as an unofficial field trip coordinator, and as such, has compiled a lookahead list of locations we will visit in the coming months. The beauty of this is that a little bit more research can be done ahead of time to ensure opening times are suitable, and any background info is available to us prior to the visit. I'll leave the full content of this to Richard to explain and post, but there may be times when we visit places a bit further afield, and we just wanted to make sure we maximised these visits by announcing them ahead of time so we can car share if required, and also take in maybe two stops if there are other things going on in the area.
Good to see a couple of new faces at the meeting, and we are continuing to advertise the club with some new flyers in English and Spanish (although I do say meetings are held in English!), and some radio ads. Hopefully we can attract more members over the coming months. Please feel free to invite friends and neighbours along!
We did however overlook our monthly assignment topic... So... The March assignment is... SILHOUETTE. Please try to post at least one silhouette image on the forum this month. If you have any difficulties with the upload process, read the sticky about uploading images on the forum, or Pm/email me for assistance. Have a go!
Our March field trip is to Almeria city on the 26th March... Richard will announce and confirm all the details... and our April club meeting will be on Tuesday 2nd April at the Hostal Meson Arboleas.
Look forward to seeing you all on the field trip!
Rgds,
Howard

We'd like to go on the field trip to Almeria but don't feel we can leave the dog alone for the several hours the trip would take. Shame as we've only seen Almeria from a car window when we were taken to get our NIE numbers.

Rob,
Sorry you can't make the field trip. Remember, the end of this month is Semana Santa, so plenty of photo ops all over. The procession we normally go to kicks off from the Plaza San Francisco in Albox at 11am on the 29th (I think!).
