July Meeting...
Folks,
Just a reminder that the July club meeting is tomorrow (Tues 2nd), and to bring along any of your photos on memory sticks. Also, if you have any old photo mags you no longer want, please bring to swap/share.
See you!
Rgds,
Howard

Re: July Meeting...
Folks,
The meeting went well yesterday. We had a small discussion about deferring club field trips until September, due to summer heat. Also mentioned the 1 Terabyte storage that Flickr.com are now offering with their free accounts. I've found Flickr so much easier to share photos about, and a simple copy and paste of code into our forum. (Although I notice this morning that one member is struggling a bit with that!).
Although Flickr does allow you to upload images at their original size, and then offer it at various sizes to view, share & download, which is great... I've found it best to upload images in Jpg format but with minimum (1) compression.
I did a walkthru demo tutorial of one of my monochrome images, detailing all the post-processing steps I took in Paintshop Pro.
We finished with a great video tutorial from an amusing French guy, who showed us how to remove people from a scene to reveal the building behind... Useful technique for when people get in the way at busy locations. The tutorial was in Lightroom 5 and Photoshop, and showcased some of the great features in LR5, but with a bit of tweaking could be adapted for PSP. Here's the link to the video...

The monthly photo assignment topic is "Household Items", so anything you find around the house, given an artistic slant (unusual angle, lighting, depth of field, colour, monochrome etc. etc).
So, as we have no field trip this month, see how you get on with a Flickr account, try posting to the forum, and I'll see you at our next club meeting on August 6th.
Rgds,
Howard
